COVID-19 Update

Dear Clients and Family Members,

On behalf of all of us at JFS Care, we first want to thank you for your trust and loyalty during this trying time. JFS Care is actively monitoring developments and guidance around the spread of COVID-19, and we want to make sure that you stay up to date with the precautionary measures we are taking to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and protect the families that we serve.

Our working caregivers are considered “essential personnel” by local government officials and will continue to provide services during the “Safer at Home” city mandate. We communicate with all our working caregivers weekly by phone, email, and texts. We have instructed all  our working caregivers to take their temperature prior to going to work to ensure that only healthy caregivers are working with our clients. We have also provided our working caregivers with gloves, cloth masks, hand sanitizer, and a thermometer, and we are augmenting this with Lysol sanitizing wipes.

We are expecting more supplies in mid-April and should have enough supplies for our staff, including KN-95 masks, gowns, and face shields to keep all our clients and working caregivers safe during this period. Not only are we providing the supplies, but we are also providing all working caregivers with specific training on COVID-19, and they each need to pass a test to demonstrate their competency. Additionally, we are reinforcing the following actions that we expect all our working caregivers to follow:

  • Universal precautions
  • Good and regular handwashing techniques
  • Safe cough/sneeze etiquette
  • Keeping work surfaces clean and sanitized
  • Following city guidelines re: social distancing
  • Using a mask when going out
  • Not using client’s phones when clocking in/out
  • Not going to work if feeling ill/taking one’s temperature prior to going to work
  • Not touching one’s face
  • Recognizing the symptoms of COVID-19
  • Maintaining a sense of calmness

We are doing our very best to provide the quality care that you expect and deserve.  Thank you again for your continued trust.

Warmly,

Your JFS CARE team
